SPY gains 1.48% as 26 of 118 setups break out; ADBE chosen, no Wex/Xcel trades
Market recap, bot performance, and scanner analysis for Monday, August 03.
The scanner saw a tradable tape before the indexes did, and the wedge pattern breakouts that aligned with that read paid.
The UnxEdge breakout scanner tracked 118 setups today and 26 resolved as breakouts while SPY, QQQ, and IWM all pushed higher. That matters because the wedge breakout quality held up even with a fairly mixed headline tape, which is usually the difference between a clean trend day and a fake intraday squeeze. For reference, yesterday's debrief framed a market that needed follow-through, and today it got enough of it.
The macro story was not some grand policy shock. It was a grind higher supported by steady risk appetite, plus enough corporate news to keep money rotating into individual names instead of hiding in defensives. Deal flow in energy after Williams moved on Momentum Midstream helped reinforce the bid under the broader cyclical trade, while company-specific updates in medtech and industrials kept the tape stock-selective instead of euphoric. In plain English, this was a market willing to reward clean relative strength, not one blindly buying everything.
One rotation note matters: retail is still rotating in week over week while metals and housing are rotating out. That gave bullish consumer and software setups more room than old-economy laggards, even as semis remain a strange split where absolute performance can work intraday but relative strength versus SPY is still weak on the week.
Market Snapshot
Bullish index action, but not a high-conviction breakout environment across the board
118 setups is healthy breadth, but the resolution split was not elite. Twenty-six breakouts against 44 failures tells you traders had to be selective, not aggressive. The scanner found opportunity, but the tape still punished weak entries and average quality names. If you want the current grades and levels, see live setups in the scanner.
Yesterday's Pick
SNOW did not hold up
This is the accountability section, so no spin: yesterday's SNOW bull failed. The setup had room on paper, but it did not survive the path. That is exactly why execution quality matters more than the story attached to a chart.
Arxe Pick of the Day
ADBE was the cleanest directional fit
Verdict: trade it
Why it made the cut: ADBE lined up with the market context instead of fighting it. With SPY and QQQ both firmly green and the broad trend marked bullish, the system favored the A- bull over the weaker bear alternatives.
Backtest: 78.57% win rate, 3.67 profit factor, 14 trades.
Takeaway: not a flashy pick, just the right one for the tape. When the market is paying for trend alignment, you do not get cute fading it. For current setup grades and breakout levels, see live setups in the scanner.

ADBE scanner chart – August 03, 2026 | UnxEdge
Highest RVOL Setup
Where the volume was today
SQQQ BEAR B printed 3.04x RVOL with pressure at 44 and resolved as a breakout.
This is the kind of tape detail that trips up lazy reads. SQQQ breaking on heavy relative volume does not mean the broad market was bearish. It means traders were actively unwinding downside exposure and trading the inverse complex with urgency as indexes lifted. In other words, the volume was more flow-driven than thesis-driven.
Bot Performance
Paused, and that is better than forcing low-quality execution
Wex and Xcel are in training mode while strategy is being refined. The scanner and Arxe intelligence remain fully active. When trading resumes, every trade will be published here. You can watch Wex and Xcel trade live in the Edge Lab.
Missed Trades
The bots missed real money today, especially on the runners
GME A- BEAR
+12.64R | TP3 full runner | RVOL 1.0x
LULU B BULL
+3.60R | TP3 full runner | RVOL 1.0x
TGT B+ BULL
+3.49R | TP3 full runner | RVOL 0.6x
DIA B+ BULL
+3.10R | TP3 full runner | RVOL 1.2x
PDD A- BULL
+2.54R | TP2 hit | RVOL 1.0x
NOW A- BULL
+2.40R | TP2 hit | RVOL 1.0x
ORCL B+ BULL
+2.06R | TP2 hit | RVOL 0.86x
VZ B+ BULL
+1.88R | TP1 hit | RVOL 1.0x
Total missed: 14 breakouts for +34.29R. That is not a rounding error. Four TP3 runners in one session means the tape had more extension than the raw breakout/failure ratio implied.
The honest read is mixed. Some misses are exactly what conservative filtering is supposed to do, especially on lower-RVOL names like TGT. But missing GME at +12.64R and multiple A- continuation names says the filter stack is probably too restrictive once the market confirms risk-on behavior.
Breakout Scorecard
The tape was tradable, but nowhere near clean
Notable breakouts included AVGO BULL B+, BAC BULL B+, DELL BULL A-, DIA BULL B+, DUK BEAR B+, and GE BULL A-. That list tells you leadership was broad enough to matter, but not concentrated enough to make everything easy.
Watch Tomorrow
The unresolved A-grade names worth stalking at the open
These are the names that still matter because they did not fully resolve today. Traders want levels, not adjectives, so here is the clean watchlist. For updates as those levels evolve, see live setups in the scanner.
